MARCH 1986

Cover Subjects: The decade that was the 1980s was summed up quite nicely (and the decade was barely half over at the time!) by the cover of our year-end spectacular for 1985. Three of the big winners in Achievement Award balloting were featured prominently—The Road Warriors (Tag Team of the Year for the third consecutive year), Hulk Hogan (capturing, surprisingly, his first Most Popular Wrestler honors), and Ric Flair (winning for Wrestler of the Year for the second year in a row, and the third time overall).

Eye-Catcher: Those wonderful T-shirts (particularly the Warriors’ custom alteration)

Also In This Issue: Rookie of the Year: The Barbarian … Most Improved Wrestler: Steve Williams … Most Hated Wrestler: Roddy Piper … Match of the Year: Hulk Hogan & Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff … Manager of the Year: Jim Cornette … Inspirational Wrestler: Mike Von Erich … Editors’ Award: Dan Shocket … “1985: The Year In Review”
