MARCH 1984
Cover Subjects: It’s usually a no-brainer when it comes time to put together the year-end issue of PWI that the Wrestler of the Year gets featured most prominently on the cover. There have been exceptions over the last quarter-century, and for 1983, it was a no-brainer that the Tag Team of the Year got the nod. In fact, The Road Warriors got the cover all to themselves. And they were just starting to dominate the wrestling world.
Eye-Catcher: The “horror lighting,” executed with a highlight positioned at Hawk and Animal’s feet
Also In This Issue: Most Popular Wrestler: Jimmy Snuka … Most Hated Wrestler: Greg Valentine … Most Improved Wrestler: Brett Wayne … Manager of the Year: James J. Dillon … Wrestler of the Year: Harley Race … Match of the Year: Harley Race vs. Ric Flair … Inspirational Wrestler: Hulk Hogan … Rookie of the Year: Angelo Mosca Jr. … Editors’ Award: The Grand Wizard … “1983: The Year In Review” … Centerfold: Jimmy Snuka and Hulk Hogan
